Kim Kardashian adds a fabulous fringe

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is famed for her picture-perfect style no matter what she is doing, and last night at the Comcast première party for Keeping Up with The Kardashians in Hollywood was no exception. Dressed in a tight mini dress accentuating her famous curves it was Kim’s new fringe which added a softness to her red carpet look. Framing her heart-shaped face perfectly the new feathery, blunt fringe and polka-straight hair combination was a welcome change to her usual, and rather predictable glossy waves she always seems to wear. Kim is yet another celebrity proving that by adding a fringe you can indeed update your look instantly. Team this with a captivating smoky eye, some false lashes and a slick of nude lipstick you will be er, keeping up with the Kardashians. Funny that…

An insider’s view of the Emmys

An insider’s view of the Emmys

LOS ANGELES—Here’s what one Emmy watcher was seeing from his vantage point inside the lobby, and later from seat 215, Row AA of the Nokia Theatre, at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards.

Inside the Nokia Theatre lobby, it’s minutes to show time and its chaos. You can’t hear the audio being piped in from the red carpet outside because of the crush of chatty attendees schmoozing. “Please make your way into the theater!” a security guard finally barks over the din.

Last minute libations are still available from the concession stands just minutes before the show is to begin. It’s $10.75 for a premium draft beer, $9 for a glass of wine. any celebrity worried about their stomach starting to growl as they make their Emmy acceptance speech can grab a$5 hot dog to tide them over until the Governor’s Ball dinner after the show.

Just outside the men’s room, “The amazing Race” host Phil Keoghan is wolfing down a bag of popcorn while Seth Meyers of “Saturday Night Live” is fidgeting with his smartphone. Across the way, Lauren Graham fiddles with her hexagon-shaped purse as she mingles with the crowd while Kevin McHale from “Glee” chats with “Dexter” co-stars James Remar and C. S. Lee.

Inside the theater, Terry O’Quinn from “Lost” and Kate Gosslin from “Kate plus 8” are heading toward their seats while red carpet coverage from outside is still being broadcast on large screens inside. “Turn that prompter towards me. Thank you,” Billy Bush can be heard barking during a commercial break. “Ladies and gentleman, the show is starting shortly. please make your way to your seats,” an announcer coos politely.

The house lights begin flashing, then dim completely as the announcer introduces executive producer Don Mischer, who reminds everyone winners have just 40 seconds to make their acceptance speeches. he also plays hall monitor: “We have to have these aisles clear in about six and a half minutes.”

Jimmy Fallon’s opening number slayed the crowd, which went wild as his makeshift “Glee” club explosively appeared on stage, with a special cameo by guitar-playing “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson to perform an amped-up parody of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to run.” Then came a little bump in the road when Fallon’s next comedy bit, reading what were supposed to be funny tweets delivered by Twitter-using viewers, kept the audience sitting on its hands. Fortunately, he picked up the guitar again later in the show.

After Eric Stonestreet won the supporting actor in a comedy, his “Modern Family” co-stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen were there to reward him with a group hug in the aisle during a commercial break. Jane Lynch and Stephen Colbert experienced a different kind of physicality, however, after Colbert presented Lynch with her Emmy for supporting actress in a comedy. the pair had to be chased down and grabbed by a statuesque Emmy wrangler when they exited the stage the wrong way.

The surprise of the night as far as the Nokia Theatre audience was concerned was when the Bravo channel’s “Top Chef” wrestled the best reality show Emmy away from “The amazing race,” which had won it seven years in a row. the most surprised people in the audience? Perhaps the show’s cohost Padma Lakshmi and judge Gail Simmons, who went running through the audience to meet their colleagues on stage.

Bryan Cranston and his “Breaking Bad” co-star Aaron Paul may have pulled a one-two sweep of the best actor and best supporting actor awards for drama series, but they still have just about the worst seats in the house. the two are seated at the far right end of the stage, directly in front of the orchestra. the cast members of “Glee” have the best seats, center stage.

Tim Tebow causing a buzz in Denver

Tim Tebow causing a buzz in Denver

“It’s hard to miss,” said the rookie wide receiver from Minnesota. “You gotta see it.”

He has even heard it.

Decker was Tebow’s roommate during Denver’s camp that broke up Thursday. every night, he’d hear the former Florida quarterback turn on the hyperbaric chamber that Tebow sleeps in.

“That thing is buzzing at night,” he said. “He sleeps in it every night. when he’s gone, I’ll slip in it for a couple of hours. It’s not for the claustrophobic.”

The buzz that Decker dealt with every night is nothing compared to the buzz that you can feel spending any amount of time in the Denver area. It starts when you pull off Interstate 25 onto Arapahoe Boulevard. On the way to the Broncos camp in Dove Valley, there is a huge banner proclaiming a local bar as the official home of the “Tim Tebow Fan Club.”

In the official team store at training camp, there are racks of replica jerseys for the Denver starters. one rack each, about eight jerseys per player. Then you get to the Tebow section where there are dozens of racks of his jersey, the NFL’s No. 1 seller.

Denver coach Josh McDaniels grins almost every time a Tebow question comes up because they often do, even though Tebow is the third-string quarterback. McDaniels liked Tebow enough to trade up to get him late in the first round of April’s draft, but he also knows Tebow’s NFL legacy has yet to be formed.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever encountered someone like him,” McDaniels said. “The attention and the accolades are for what he did. the things going forward will define how people feel about him, how the NFL looks at him and his teammates look at him.

“He’s always going to be a Heisman winner and a national champion. but he’s moved past that.”

Because Tebow suffered a rib injury in his first NFL preseason game, he was not available to speak to the Sun about his days in Denver, per team policy. He is still in the extended-stay hotel the team used for training camp but is looking to find a place where he, his brother Robbie and friend and business manager Angel Gonzalez can live.

Tebow’s Denver teammates speak glowingly about the rookie quarterback. they seem almost relieved that the fans attending Denver’s practices are screaming for his autograph and leaving them alone.

“It’s crazy,” said Jarvis Moss, a Bronco who played with Tebow at Florida in 2006. “It’s always been that way since I first met him. I wouldn’t say it’s a Florida thing because there are a lot of great Gators and we don’t get nearly that kind of attention. He’s just a mad celebrity.

“I don’t really know anybody more popular than Tim. It’s almost hard to believe.”

Decker has seen it firsthand as a roomie. although he said the security at the hotel kept any potential stalkers away, he has seen the scene after practices when Tebow signs autographs, and he has answered countless questions about the quarterback.

“He’s a fun guy to be a roommate with,” Decker said. “Everybody knew about him in college, that he was a great football player and even a better guy off the field. Now that I’ve been around him, I know it’s true. He doesn’t get overwhelmed. He doesn’t get a big head about it.”

The Broncos have seen the Tebow Factor at their camp this summer. On the hillside where fans are allowed to sit through two-a-day practices, what used to be a small crowd has grown as high as 3,000 for some. before his first practice, fans were camping out in the parking lot at 6 a.m. Florida banners pop up on occasion, and there are as many shirts that sport Florida orange and blue as the Denver orange and blue.

“I went to Florida from 2002 to 2005 so I feel like he’s followed me out here,” said Lindsey Summers, who was wearing a Gator shirt at Wednesday’s practice. “It’s great to see him on the Broncos.”

Denver officials point to the spike in TV ratings in the fourth quarter of the Broncos’ first exhibition game.

“That doesn’t happen in NFL preseason games,” said team spokesman Patrick Smyth. “But that’s when everyone knew Tim was going in.”

Smyth is a UF graduate as well, migrating west after his time was up in 2004. He has seen the Tebow phenomenon close up and has marveled at the way the rookie has handled everything, including a request for autographs from media members in the locker room in Cincinnati.

“He even signed for them. He handles everything so well,” Smyth said. “Not much fazes him.”

Denver is used to a Gator connection. the team has drafted more players from Florida than any other school, and the city sports the 300-strong Rocky Mountain Gator Club.

But it’s rarely seen anything like this. in a city where basketball player Carmelo Anthony is the big star and he’s making noises about leaving town next year, a star was needed.

The last time there was this kind of commotion, John Elway was the rookie quarterback and the Denver Post carried stories about where he was getting his hair cut.

“I think there’s a connection already with Tim Tebow and the way he’s acted … the type of person he is. He fits perfect into this community,” Elway said. “I think that’s why everyone is excited about him, because they kind of feel like you know he’s the next son of Denver. That’s how I felt when I came in.”

Tebow has certainly stayed busy. in addition to training camp, he has signed deals with Nike, EA Sports, Gatorade and Jockey underwear. He has a deal with Palm Beach Autographs and has appeared at several signing shows.

Tebow made national news when his head was shaved by his teammates. but Tebow always seems to be making national news. At Florida, he was the face of college football. in the NFL, he was the big story of last weekend when he scored a meaningless touchdown on the game’s last play.

Still, it’s what Tebow does on the field for the Broncos that will define his NFL legacy. No matter how many jerseys are sold or how many autographs are signed, there are vultures waiting to label him a bust as soon as possible.

Tebow may end up as the primary backup this year because if the Broncos want to use him on any special plays he can’t be the third quarterback. that player will be inactive and could be used only in an emergency.

“Tim’s progress has been normal,” McDaniels said. “We kind of knew where he was at before we drafted him. It’s one thing to be mentally capable and another to be able to run the offense against NFL defenses. every rookie goes through a learning curve.”

Even if he’s not like every other rookie.

Why have celebritys suddenly been so tame?

Why have celebritys suddenly been so tame?

Remember the good old days when you could open the newspaper and you would get transported away from all the evil and you could just read about the Spears family, Lindsey Lohan, Amy Winehouse, and Paris Hilton all in the same day? all were getting now is that predictable trash about Madonna.

I would like to think that the celebs are beginning to grow some moral back bone, but I doubt that's the case. I would also like to think that the market is falling out from under that sort of thing because people just dont care about it any more.that is probably not the case either. they are probably being more careful and hiring more body guards to be able to keep the paparazzi away from themselves.

they are all consumed with the ultimate lame celebrity Barry Messiah Obama

How I Got My Book in a Celebrity Magazine’s Hot Sheet!

How I Got My Book in a Celebrity Magazine’s Hot Sheet!

About 6 months before my book was published, I had this dream of getting listed as “Hot Book of the Week” in a major celebrity magazine. So, I made a phone call to the editor and told her about my book. She seemed pleasant enough, as I mentioned that several a list celebrities were mentioned in the book, as well as the fact that 15% of the proceeds would be going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. over the months, I’d let her know, via email, the progress of the book. I’d get pleasant little responses, here and there. I knew that getting in this magazine was a big deal, and rather a long shot, as most of the featured books are those by celebrities themselves, or #1 bestsellers that are put out by major publishers. my book was simply self-published via POD, and I knew that this was going to take a miracle. But I kept affirming that this was my goal – to get listed as HOT BOOK of the Week!

As my plan was to launch around Mother’s Day, I persistently contacted the editor, with news of pub date, my marketing plans, etc – basically chit chatty little emails – always, always mentioning how much I loved her column and how I had actually bought a certain item she had mentioned in the previous week’s issue.

Finally, the date was getting close. I decided that some guerrilla tactics were going to be needed if I was going to have any results. So, I printed out a cartoon image of a dreaming girl, with a cartoon bubble coming out of her head. I then, pasted in a collage-like manner, HOT Sheet in the bubble, with an image of my book where the HOT BOOK of the Week was going, with some copy, as if it really was in the magazine. The caption below the montage was “Just Dreamin’!” I filled a box with 4 of my music CD’s along with the collage, and sent it off.

On may 10th, I got an email from the editor, telling me that although she could not fit me into the actual magazine, she was able to fit my book into the Online version of the magazine – and that it would be listed as HOT BOOK of the MONTH – for a full month! this was one of the most exciting days of my life, and I think I jumped up and down doing the happy dance for about an hour! now, I always include “As seen in … ” in my signature block, and I have a nice screen shot print out of my book: Hot Book of the Week – just like I had dreamed.

The results? Since the celebrity mag mention, I was recommended by Dr. Laura, was a guest on Martha Stewart Whole Living Radio, hit #1 in “Wedding Showers” on Amazon.com, the Learning Annex asked me to submit a video workshop on how I became an Amazon bestseller, and I was asked to join a panel of writers at the writer’s convention in New York City this spring. I’ve been a guest on over 65 radio shows and listed in several print magazines and have been featured in several online sites. I’ve been a repeat guest on the a nationally syndicated TV show as a mother-in-law expert, and am on the brink of a corporate sponsorship. as well, I auditioned for and got the position of co-host for an exciting new online radio show.

So, stepping out on a limb and being creative can often lead to great things. Never underestimate the power of visualization, determination, and a little creativity.
